Disaster Relief

UN President Ban Ki Moon visits one of the 10 Child Friendly Spaces run by AMURT Haiti in Port-au-Prince from Mar-Oct 2010 to help restore normalcy to children affected by the earthquake.

Besides motivational and creative activities aimed at psycho-social support, the children also received a hot meal and nutrional support. The program was conducted in partnership with Kindernothilfe and Catholic Relief Services and benefited 4,000 children and child minders.

 

LOCAL-Haiti

LOCAL-Haiti implements all long-term development programs of AMURT in Haiti, while AMURT accompanies it through administrative and programming support and reinforcement.  The goal of this unique approach is to create a sustainable model for local capacity-building and self-sufficiency.

TER (Transformation of the Rural Environment)

The TER projects focus on watershed protection, sustainable agro-forestry and integrated water management.

 

ESPRI-Sel  (Social Entrepreneurship & Salt Iodinzation)

ESPRI-Sel focuses on establishing social entrepreneurship models of production through a salt producers’ cooperative & the iodization of salt to combat iodine deficiency in Haiti.
